If you’ve visited one of our practices recently, you’ll have noticed that we’ve been trialling a new feature called Patient Portal.

This feature was introduced by our dental software provider as a means of reducing contact during COVID-19, by enabling patients to securely complete forms at home, rather than using clinipads in the waiting room of the practice.

When you book an appointment with us, you’ll receive an email three days prior to your appointment, including a link for you to click, where you can then log in to Patient Portal and update the following forms:

  • Contact details – to ensure we have the correct information on file
  • COVID-19 questionnaire – in line with our COVID-19 safety procedures
  • Medical history
  • Oral health survey
  • NHS forms if required

Once you’ve completed these forms, this will automatically be updated on your patient record, meaning you do not have to update these forms when you visit the practice. Not only is it a safer method for COVID-19 reasons, but it’s also a quicker process for you – saving you time when you visit us.

There’s also an online ‘check in’ feature, so that you can simply use your Patient Portal login on your phone to ‘check in’ to the clinic when you arrive outside, rather than having to call us to let us know you’re here.

We’ve seen a fantastic response to the Patient Portal so far and we hope it will continue to be a useful feature for our patients in the coming months.
