If you’d like to improve your smile, but you aren’t keen on porcelain veneers or orthodontic treatment, then composite bonding could be the answer you’re looking for. At Honour Health, composite bonding (combined with teeth whitening) is an increasingly popular treatment with patients who want great results fast.

Gulshan Dhanoya, one of our dentists at Honour Health, says:

“The combination of teeth whitening and composite bonding are two very effective treatments to help you smile with confidence in a very short space of time.

Firstly, you can choose from either home whitening or in-surgery (Zoom) whitening at Honour Health. Home whitening requires an appointment to take impressions of your teeth and make mouthguards for you to take home. You then apply a small amount of whitening gel to the trays nightly for 2-3 weeks to achieve the desired result.

In-surgery (Zoom) whitening is a process where gel is placed on the surface of the tooth and activated by light. The process takes about an hour and the teeth appear up to six shades lighter in one appointment.

When you are happy with the shade of your teeth, the next step is composite bonding. This is the addition of composite filling material to the teeth to correct their shape and appearance. It is non-invasive and does not damage the natural tooth structure. Composite material is simply added to the teeth and can be used to correct worn, chipped, stained or misshapen teeth, and to close gaps.

It usually only takes one appointment to complete the process, meaning you can leave the same day with an enhanced smile!

The bonded composite can be removed if necessary, leaving your natural tooth the same as always underneath.

To start your journey, you should first book a consultation. Your dentist will discuss your main concerns, take photos of your teeth, discuss all treatment options available and carry out a routine examination. It is important that your teeth and gums are healthy before starting any cosmetic dental procedure.”
