We’re delighted to announce that Honour Health has been shortlisted in The Dental Awards 2019 in not one, not two, not three, but four categories!

This is a huge achievement for our team and we’re thrilled to have been recognised for our dedication to helping our patients achieve smiles they love.

We’re finalists for:

  • Dentist of the Year (Onkar Dhanoya)
  • Dental Therapist of the Year (Caroline Short)
  • Dental Practice of the Year (Honour Health Jesmond)
  • Dental Team of the Year (Honour Health Stanley)

The results will be announced on 17th May at an awards ceremony at The Hilton Metropole NEC in Birmingham, alongside The Dentistry Show, which is the leading UK dental trade exhibition and conference.

This year is significant for The Dental Awards, as 2019 proudly marks the 20th anniversary of this prestigious event that for many years has sought to recognise the outstanding individuals and teams whose dedication and drive continues to raise standards throughout the UK dentistry profession.

Congratulations to our principal dentist Onkar Dhanoya for being in the running for Dentist of the Year. Onkar has more than 30 years of experience in looking after the dental health and wellbeing of patients across the North East. He works across all three of our practices in Jesmond, Ponteland and Stanley. Find out more about Onkar here.

Congratulations also to our dental therapist Caroline Short for being shortlisted in the Dental Therapist of the Year category. Caroline has been with us for more than three years, working at our Jesmond and Ponteland practices, and is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy. Caroline worked as a dental nurse for eight years prior to becoming a dental therapist, giving her an excellent insight into the world of dentistry. Find out more about Caroline here.

Well done to our fantastic teams too! We’re so proud of everyone for reaching this stage in such a prestigious event.

Each category is judged by a panel of leading dental experts and key opinion leaders within their respective field, representing a broad range of disciplines and dental associations.

As part of our entries, we provided examples of clinical excellence, marketing literature, team training and development information, photos and videos of our practices, evidence of team leadership and happiness, evidence of uniqueness in our practice and how we go beyond the regular duty of care, how we connect with the local community, and patient testimonials.

The Dental Awards is considered throughout the industry to be the most original and respected awards programme in UK dentistry.

We’re keeping everything crossed!
