Welcome to Honour Health. I’m the principal dentist Onkar Dhanoya and we look forward to providing you with the highest standards of advanced healthcare in our friendly environment.
At Honour Health, we know that there are links between dental disease and conditions such as heart disease, obesity, diabetes, stroke and Alzheimer’s. Because of this, we believe that dental health should not be separated from general health, and this belief underpins the way we look after you. We also understand that how you look can affect your confidence and your happiness.
Ultimately, our aim is to help you to ‘Smile more. Live life’.
About me
I graduated as a dental surgeon from Newcastle University in 1985 and have been principal dental surgeon at the Honour Health Group since 1986. The group was previously known as the Osborne Dental Group, and we re-branded to Honour Health in 2017 to better reflect the range of services we provide. As clinical lead, I am very proud of the dental surgeons at my practices, who all provide an excellent standard of care to their patients.
I hold Fellowships of both the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) and the International College of Dentists.
I am Vice-Dean of the FGDP(UK). I represent the Yorkshire and Northern region on the FGDP(UK) Board and I chaired the working group which developed the recently published ‘Implications of Covid-19 for the safe management of general dental practice’. I previously served as Vice-Dean of the FGDP(UK) from 2018-2019 and chaired the FGDP’s Professional Affairs Committee.
I am past President of BDA Northern Counties Branch and Chair of the North Tyne LDC.
I have been a clinical teacher at Newcastle Dental Hospital since 1995 and I hold postgraduate qualifications in implant dentistry, conscious sedation, dental acupuncture, facial aesthetics, clinical education, dental practice management and dental practice appraisal.

Testimonial
“I undertook Invisalign and implant treatments as my tooth was damaged and not aesthetically attractive. I have driven from Glasgow and East Midlands just to see Onkar Dhanoya, so it speaks for itself really. I trust him and I know that he has my wellbeing and dental health as a priority above all else.
I’ve been delighted with the results both aesthetically and with my dental health. Honour Health provides outstanding dental care and Onkar Dhanoya is clearly an exceptional dentist.”

“Further to my recent dental treatment with Onkar Dhanoya – many thanks for the results. My ‘bite’ is much improved and my eating experience distinctly more comfortable. In addition, the new smile you skillfully crafted for me is remarkable – it is quite splendid work and for me an unexpected outcome of the treatment.”

“I have been treated by Dr Dhanoya in his Jesmond practice since 1990. During the years I have had both cosmetic and corrective work done which has kept me smiling! The approach from the entire team is great, from being very flexible when organising appointments, to spending time with my children to ensure they understand exactly what to expect from their check ups. This has resulted in the children looking forward to thier checkups and developing life long good dental hygiene habits.”
