We know how important it is for our patients to be able to smile with confidence on their wedding day. After all, it’s one of the most photographed days of their lives. To ensure a gleaming white smile, many brides-to-be book a teeth whitening session as part of their pre-wedding beauty regime. It’s a hugely popular treatment and one of the most effective anti-ageing treatments available.
If you’re considering teeth whitening ahead of your big day, bear these key points in mind:
- Anyone who carries out teeth whitening is legally required to be a dental professional registered with the General Dental Council
- If they’re not a dentist, or a dental hygienist, dental therapist or dental technician working under the supervision of a dentist, then it’s simply illegal for them to carry out the procedure
- Practitioners in beauty businesses and hairdressing salons are not qualified to carry out teeth whitening, and there is no guarantee that it will be carried out safely. In fact, it could even lead to lasting damage to your teeth and gums
At all of our practices, we examine your teeth and gums to establish your suitability for the treatment before explaining your options and providing a written plan.
For our in-surgery teeth whitening treatments, we use ‘Zoom!’ – a 45 minute bleaching process that lightens the discolouration of enamel and dentin – during which time you can relax and read or listen to music before leaving us with teeth up to five shades whiter.
Alternatively, we offer the option for you to whiten your teeth in your own home. We’ll manufacture bespoke bleaching trays to fit on your teeth and gums, apply your first treatment, and show you how to continue whitening independently.
So, if you’re self-conscious about discoloured teeth, book an appointment with us. We’ll make sure that you’ll be beaming when you walk down the aisle.
