MEET IAN CORBETT

We are very happy to collaborate with Ian Corbett, specialist oral surgeon, who is running his clinic from our boutique dental practice in Ponteland. Ian has known and worked with Honour Health’s principal dentist Onkar Dhanoya since 1997.

Ian is a Consultant Oral Surgeon and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Oral Surgery.  He is a Fellow in Oral Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, the highest level of specialist qualification in the UK, and is on the General Dental Council Oral Surgery Specialist list.  

Ian graduated from Newcastle University and Kings College, University of London, and holds a PhD in pathology. He has over 20 years’ experience in oral surgery, has chaired the Specialist Advisory Board for Oral Surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and is a member of the Intercollegiate Specialist Advisory Committee.  

Ian is also a member of the Association of British Academic Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons having taught undergraduate students and trained future specialists and consultants.  He has a research interest and international recognition in the field of dental anaesthesia, having published extensively, lectured internationally, and was awarded a European Federation for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry prize.

Ian provides an extensive oral surgery referral service, specialising in treating patients with complex oral surgery needs, with an interest in surgery for orthodontic patients and young adults, and in the management of dentally anxious patients.
