Huge congratulations to Dr Onkar Dhanoya, who has just reached a fantastic milestone – 35 years since he became principal dentist at Honour Health!
Dr Dhanoya took over his first practice in Stanley in 1986, followed by his second practice in 2001 at Jesmond, and he opened his third practice in Ponteland in 2015. Time flies!
To celebrate Dr Dhanoya’s 35-year work anniversary, we gathered the team together from all three practices for a party -kindly hosted by the South Causey Inn. It was great so see everyone together after such a long time, seeing as COVID-19 restrictions had prevented us getting together in 2020.
Dr Dhanoya has accomplished so much since he took over his first practice in 1986. In addition to looking after the dental health of several generations of patients across the North East, he has been heavily involved with the wider dental industry. He now holds Fellowships of both the Faculty of General Dental Practice (UK) and the International College of Dentists. He represents the Yorkshire and Northern region on the FGDP(UK) Board and chaired the working group which developed the recently published ‘Implications of Covid-19 for the safe management of general dental practice’. He previously served as Vice-Dean of the FGDP(UK) and chaired the FGDP’s Professional Affairs Committee.
Dr Dhanoya is also past President of BDA Northern Counties Branch and Chair of the North Tyne LDC. He has been a clinical teacher at Newcastle Dental Hospital since 1995 and holds postgraduate qualifications in implant dentistry, conscious sedation, dental acupuncture, facial aesthetics, clinical education, dental practice management and dental practice appraisal.
Dr Dhanoya is a fantastic mentor to our team and is always happy to talk about all things dentistry! We’re very lucky to have him at the helm of Honour Health.
Congratulations Dr Dhanoya!
