Here at Honour Health, we love to help young people to get active, which is why we’re proud sponsors of the juniors at Beamish & East Stanley Cricket Club.
This season, the juniors won three cup finals, which is fantastic news!
The first of the finals was held at Whickham involving the Under 13s B team and Whickham’s A team. Beamish won the Durham County Cricket Board Junior League Plate for the Under 13s age group by beating the hosts by eight wickets.
The second cup final involved the Under 11s team versus a strongly fancied Eppleton side. Beamish won this fixture to win the Durham County Cricket Board Junior League Shield for the Under 11s age group by beating the visitors by 121 runs, which is a massive margin to win by for this age group.
Earlier in the year, the Under 11s won the league cup against Leadgate, which meant that they were asked to represent the league in a Cup winners Cup for the whole of the County. In the semi finals they played Willington, and they played Durham City in the final. Durham City are rated as one of the best Under 11s teams within the North East, so winning this fixture is by far the greatest cricketing achievement of the Beamish & East Stanley’s Cricketers’ lives. In a very tight game, Beamish & East Stanley won by seven runs, making them Under 11s County Champions. This is the first team from Beamish to hold this honour.
It’s been a fantastic season for the juniors and we’re thrilled to see the Honour Health logo adorning their white shirts!
The word ‘health’ in our name ‘Honour Health’ highlights our mission, which is to focus on the prevention of dental disease, and to improve patients’ health and wellbeing across the North East.
Each of our three Honour Health practices pledged to support groups in their local communities who promote exercise and a healthy lifestyle, which is why our Stanley practice chose Beamish & East Stanley Cricket Club.
Our Ponteland practice sponsors Ponteland Under 14 Blues, and our Jesmond practice sponsors West Jesmond FC.
Well done everyone! Here’s to the next season – good luck to all of our teams!
