The teeth whitening process at Honour Health
The teeth whitening process at Honour Health is simple and effective, with results being achieved within only 2 weeks. We use ‘Boutique Whitening’, a UK-based professional teeth whitening brand well known within the dental industry for delivering high quality results.
This is what you can expect when embarking on your teeth whitening journey at Honour Health.
1. Initial Consultation – oral health check
Your dentist will examine your teeth and gums to ensure whitening is a safe option.
Please note you will need to have received a dental health check within the 6 months prior to teeth whitening treatment being carried out. If you require a dental check-up, please let us know and we can get you booked in.
At this initial consultation, we will also take impressions (moulds) for your bespoke whitening trays.
2. Second appointment – how to use your kit!
At your second appointment we will show you how to use the Boutique Teeth Whitening gel. This comes in the form of four syringes, presented in an attractive Boutique Teeth Whitening kit for you to take home. We show you how to put the whitening gel in the trays (you only need a tiny amount per tooth) and check the fit of your bespoke whitening trays.
If you and your dentist are happy, and when your dentist has given you aftercare advice, you then leave the clinic with your teeth whitening kit, ready to start your whitening journey at home!
You wear the whitening trays overnight for two weeks to gradually whiten your teeth while you sleep. Alternatively, if you prefer to wear your trays for one hour during the day (instead of sleeping with the trays in your mouth), then we can offer a ‘Boutique by Day’ teeth whitening kit instead.
Patients are advised to avoid stain-causing foods and drinks for at least 24–48 hours after treatment.
For take-home kits, patients wear custom trays filled with whitening gel for a set period each day, usually over one to two weeks.
3. Third appointment – Final review and after care
After you complete your whitening, we ask you to come back to the clinic for a final review with your dentist.
The beauty of having your Boutique Teeth Whitening kit at home is that you have your remaining gel ready to use whenever you’d like to top up your whitening.
If you run out, simply come back to the clinic to buy more (and bear in mind that you will need to have had a dental health assessment at Honour Health in the past six months before your dentist can prescribe more whitening gel).
With good oral hygiene and occasional touch-ups, results can last anywhere from six months to two years.
